NHMA invites corporate companies; government, academic, and nonprofit organizations; and health care industry to educate our physicians, dentists, other health professionals, and health professional students with your support for lectures and events; exhibits; and advertisements. NHMA expects over 1,000 attendees.

Call for Abstracts for Speakers

Physicians and health professionals from across the country interested in speaking at this unique Hispanic Health Conference are requested to complete the Abstract with Title, Objectives, Description of the Project or Methodology and Conclusions and Lessons Learned. The Abstract should address strategies to improve the health of Latinos or Latino communities in the following areas:
(1) Private Practice; (2) Faculty Development; (3) Hispanic Health Research; or (4) Clinical Care

NIDDK Research Training Day

NHMA and the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) hosts a one-day Faculty Development Training for Last Year Residents, Fellows and Junior Faculty interested in pursuing academic careers and learning about NIH grant writing and opportunities on Thursday, April 30, 2020.

Call for Abstracts for Poster Presentations

 A big part of our conference is the Hispanic Health Research or Service Learning Poster Presentation session on Saturday morning, May 2, 2020:

  • An opportunity for students and young investigators to present their work to several hundred doctors, nurses, and healthcare executives who are especially interested in Hispanic and minority healthcare.

  • Facilitate the exchange of ideas and networking; allowing you to interact with those interested on a one-on-one basis.

  • Awards for the most outstanding posters (students, residents, and professionals), based on the value to the profession, scientific and/or informational content, appropriate design and graphical presentation.

Deadline to submit is December 31, 2019

2020 Young Physician of the Year Award 

NHMA will award the 2020 Young Physician of the Year Award to twelve outstanding young physicians who demonstrated achievements in leadership, medical practice, research or teaching, and a commitment to providing healthcare in a Hispanic community. The awards will be presented at the NHMA 24th Annual Conference Reception on Friday, May 1, 2020.

Deadline to submit is Friday, November 29, 2019

2020 Resident/Fellow of the Year Award 

NHMA will award the 2020 Resident/Fellow of the Year Award to twelve outstanding residents and fellows who demonstrated achievements in leadership, medical practice, research or teaching, and a commitment to providing healthcare in a Hispanic community. The awards will be presented at the NHMA 24th Annual Conference Reception on Friday, May 1, 2020.
